James Michael Seals

James Michael “Mike” Seals of Burleson passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at home under hospice care surrounded by family and friends. Mike was born in Cleburne, Texas on January 26, 1950, to Maston Bridges Seals and Opal Ethel (Owens) Seals of Joshua, Texas. Mike grew up in Joshua and graduated from Joshua High School in 1968. He lived there until his marriage to Dola P. Keel on June, 6 1971 in Joshua, Texas at the United Methodist Church.

While still in high school, Mike started working summers for Lone Star Gas Co in 1966 repairing yard gas lights. He continued work with the company through many ownership changes and after 47 years of service, Mike retired from Atmos Energy, on March 31, 2017.

Mike was a die hard Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed fishing, skiing (both water and snow), snow boarding, sailing, boating, golfing and especially traveling. Mike loved his family, friends and his wife, Dola. Mike was proceeded in death by his father Maston Bridges Seals, his mother Opal (Owens) Seals and nephew Matthew Tyler Aten. Mike is survived by his wife of 50 years Dola from Burleson, sister Leigh Ann (Seals) Lewis and husband Bill Lewis, and their surviving son Christian of San Antonio, Texas, their serving son Christian Aten and wife Anna, and 3 children of Orting, Washington, along with his brothers in law, sisters in law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
