James Harold Lynch, age 84, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Texas Health Harris Methodist SW Hospital. James was born on April 29, 1938, in Kerens, Texas to Warren Lynch and Bonnie Mae Proctor. After graduating from I.M. Terrell High School, James entered the U.S. Air Force, he served 20 years and retired June 1, 1975. He returned to Fort Worth; earned his Associates Degree in Business from TCJC and began his career with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1999. James started his own business with a Texaco station, invested in real estate and was involved in two business partnerships.
James confessed Christ and was united with Worth Hill Baptist Church; and served as a deacon at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. On July 20, 1990, he became a member and served as a deacon and church treasurer at New Light Sabbath ND Church under the pastorate of Elder R. Sanders.
James was married to Bobbie Collins from which four children were born, Denise, Cheryl, Lawrence and Kalvin. On August 5, 1989, he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Gloria Miller.
James is survived by: his wife, Gloria Lynch; seven children, Denise Johnson (Larry deceased), Cheryl Brown (Edward) both of Houston; Lawrence Lynch (olga), Kalvin Lynch (Theresa), Gloria Miller, Arlene Mack (Kenneth) and Theophus Miller II (Pamela) all of Fort Worth; his siblings Bonnie Borders, Lois Wallace, Clariece Hunter (Ladell), Evon Levy, Berniece Davis, LJ Clayton (Lori), Rogena Washington (Earl), Valerie Session, Warren Lynch (Mary) of California; Charles Lynch (Gwen) and Ellie Hugh Milo (Terry); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunt, uncle, cousins and friends to mourn his passing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, LJ Clayton, Sr. & Bonnie Clayton; sisters Mattie Sayles, Ethel Chancellor and Rosie Redic, brothers Ewell Lynch, Curtis Lynch, Richuel Lynch and Marvin Jackson.
A visitation for James will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Laurel Land FH - Ft Worth, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134. A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134. A committal service will occur Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Laurel Land Memorial Park - FW, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134.
