Irene Hampton Hillard was born in Bunkie, Louisiana, on February 23, 1936. After graduating from Bunkie High School, she married Willie Hillard, Jr. They were married for over 50 years until his passing in 2003. Together, they raised six children: Terri, Natalie, Penny, Christopher, Joan, and Jason. They were also blessed with nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Irene graduated from Tarrant County Junior College, where she worked in the library for many years. She had a serious love for travel and was a talented painter. She was also a volunteer at the Red Cross and many other charitable organizations.
She is survived by: her children: Terri Hillard, Natalie Mitchell, Penny (Derek) Reese, Joan (Kyle) Kaneshiro, and Jason Hillard. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Willie Hillard, Jr., her son Christopher Hillard, and her grandson, Joshua Johnson.
