Harry Arthur (Art) Wright transcended this life on Friday August 5, 2016. Art was born on July 26, 1935 in Council Grove, Kansas. The LORD GOD blessed him to have his earthly mother and father, Martha Ruth (Miller) and Harry Ames Wright. He grew up and attended public schools in Council Grove, Kansas. After high school graduation he attended the University of Washburn, Topeka, Kansas for one semester then went on active duty with the United States Navy. While attending Tradevman “A” school at NATTC Memphis, TN the LORD GOD again blessed him, this time with the LOVE of his life. Inez Brown became his soul mate on19 November 1955.he retired from the United States Navy on 30 September 1975 at NAS Kingsville, Texas as a Chief Tradevman. He and his family moved to Edgecliff Village, Texas to begin his second career at General Dynamics. He completed his second career on 31 July 1998. He attempted to follow a bit of advice given to him by his Grandmother Samantha E. (Sheets) Miller, to wit “The World owes you nothing, but you owe the World, now go pay your debt.” He volunteered his time as an assistant coach, Cub Scout Leader, Alderman, Mayor and working with the American Legion South Fort Worth Post 569. He was a member of the American Legion and the Fleet Reserve Association. Family was the most important thing in his life. He truly loved his Wife and children. He ended all conversations with family members with “I LOVE YOU” which he genuinely felt. Art was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marilyn Joy Wright; son, Richard Arthur Wright; granddaughter, Amber Lyn Wright. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Inez; their children, Dennis Wayne Wright of Granbury, TX and Roger Alan Wright of Fort Worth, TX; Their grandchildren, Ryan Arthur Wright of High Point, NC, Daniel Wayne Wright of Fort Worth and Denise Nicole Wright of Houston, TX; great grandchildren, James Caleb Crowder and Christa Ann Crowder of Houston, TX.
