The family will receive guest for visitation from 5:30pm to 7:30 pm on Monday, November 1, 2021. Funeral Service will be held the following morning, Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park. Both visitation and service will be held at Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Chapel, 7301 E. Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, Texas.
Greg was born on June 17, 1956 (Father's Day) in Minneapolis Minnesota to Ray and Frances (Edgington) Newton. He was the eldest of 3 children.
Greg graduated from Fridley High school in Fridley, Minnesota in 1974 and earned and associates degree from Danville Area Community College in Danville, Illinois. Greg was a lifelong learner as evidenced y the hundreds of books and tapes in his personal library. After moving to Texas in 2006 he also attended Tarrant County College. He especially enjoyed history and economics. He studied the Bible daily and considered his personal relationship with Jesus Christ to be his most important calling.
Greg married the love of his life, Elaine (Sanders) Chrostowski on April 28, 2007. They were devoted to each other and he often said that these have been the happiest years of his life.
Greg was an owner/operator over-the-road truck driver for much of his career which spanned from 1986-2007 when he retired from trucking--much to the relief of his new wife.
Greg is survived y his wife Elaine of Fort Worth, Texas; his father, Ray Newton, of Fort Worth, Texas; sister Nancy Peavey, and her husband Kerry of Garland, Texas; brother, Todd Newton, and his wife Linda, of Rockwall, Texas; aunt, Maxine Edgington of Danville, Illinois; step-daughter, Sarah, and her husband, Andrew Day, and their daughter, Natalie of Grand Prairie, Texas; step-son, Brad Chrostowski, his wife, Britni and their son, Coen of Mansfield, Texas; brother-in-law, Ken Sanders, and his wife, Dianne of Catlin, Illinois. He is also survived by 3 nieces, 1 nephew and several great nieces and nephews. Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Frances (Edgington) Newton, his grandmother, Helen Edgington, his uncle, Gordon Edgington, and his in-laws, Merret and Frances Sanders.
