Evelyn was born on March 20, 1926, in Minden, Louisiana, to Mabel and George F. Winham. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Louisiana College. She and her husband of 73 years, Pat, married in 1946. They lived their lives together serving God in full-time ministry; first in churches in Louisiana, Texas and California, where she was a pastor’s wife. In 1958, they answered the call to foreign missions and were missionaries in Mexico for 34 years. They retired in 1991 and lived in Kingwood, TX, where Pat served as Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church, Kingwood, until they moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area in 2012.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Pat, their children, David and (spouse) Vicki, Linda and (spouse) David Bullard, and Carol Martinez, six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, as well as her brother, Ansel, and sister Georgene, and their families. She is preceded by her younger brother, James, in death.
One word sums up Evelyn’s life: faithful. Evelyn lived many adventures in faith alongside Pat during her life, always strongly convinced that it was God's will. We know that she is now rejoicing in Heaven.
