Mrs. Ella Mae Thompson

Mrs. Ella Mae Thompson was born on October 29, 1935, to Mr. Erby and Mrs. Ella Tolbert

Riggins in Smith County, Texas. Ella Mae was a 1953 graduate of Jackson High School in Tyler,

Texas.

Ella Mae married the love of her life, Nathaniel Thompson, Sr. on April 30, 1955 and later

moved to Fort Worth, Texas where she placed membership at Eastland Street Church of Christ

and faithfully served for many years. Ella Mae was a loving wife and mother

who also worked in domestic services for 40+ years.

Ella Mae Thompson was preceded in death by her parents Erby and Ella Riggins, one son

Chester Thompson, and husband, Nathaniel Thompson, Sr. She was also preceded in death by

three sisters and one brother: Matie Belle Thomas, Belzora Lewis, Nancy Sue Greenwood, and

Welton Riggins.

She leaves to cherish her memory, eight children; Shelton H. Riggins, Bryan, Texas; Diana Guy,

Caroline Thompson, Preston Thompson, Nathaniel Thompson, Jr., Alice Coleman, Margaret

Thompson, and David Thompson all of Fort Worth, Texas; and a host of grandchildren, great

grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Ella Mae kept life simple and embraced it to the fullest. The love she gave and the smiles she

made will be dearly missed.
