Durrell Gene Tidwell passed away on February 3, 2022 at the age of 78 at his home in Weatherford, Texas. His battle with cancer showed his courage and strength until the end. Durrell was a caring son, brother, husband, father, and T-Paw.
Durrell met the love of his life, Vicki, at Castleberry High School in 1959. Together they had three children, Gary, Erin, and Brian. They were married for 59 wonderful years.
Durrell was an accomplished machinist, inventor, and mentor for Midas Rex and Medtronic for 33 years. He holds numerous U.S. Patents for surgical cutting tool motors. Durrell loved his job, but not nearly as much as the Lord and his family, both of which he loved fiercely and faithfully.
He adored his grandchildren, Bailey, Randall, Marshall, Libby, Nevaeh, and Gunnar and the time he spent with them. His face would light up when they would give him hugs and he was always telling a joke or story that was sure to get a laugh or a giggle. He touched many lives in his 78 years and will live on in our memories forever.
Durrell is survived by his wife, Vicki, his daughter Erin and husband Victor and their children Bailey (and husband Austin), Randall, Marshall and Libby, his son Brian and his wife Lauren and their children Nevaeh and Gunnar, his sister Saundra, and his cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, E.C. (Buster) and Mildred and his son, Gary.
A memorial service for Durrell was held Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Crestmont Baptist Church in Burleson, TX; interment in the family plot at Laurel Land Cemetery, Fort Worth, TX took place on Monday, February 14, 2022.
