Dennis was a machinist by trade and took great pride in his career. He was married for 45 years to Paula S. Williams. Dennis loved his family and relished playing with his children. Dennis was a reserved family man, and enjoyed time spent with his brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews. He greatly enjoyed baseball, country-western music, old western movies, muscle cars, playing pool, and listening to his brother-in-law play music.
Dennis is proceeded in death by Chalmer Burgess (father), Bernice McDonald (mother), Charles “Sonny” Burgess (brother), Dorothy “Dot” Burgess (sister), Clarence Williams Jr. (stepson), and Jesse Williams (step grandson).
Dennis is survived by Paula Williams (wife), Brian Burgess (son), Kenneth Burgess (son), Adam Burgess (son), Daniel Pearson (stepson), David Pearson (stepson), Shawn Williams (step grandson), Crystal Williams (step granddaughter), Elizabeth Owens (step granddaughter), David W. Pearson (step grandson), Lucas Wallace (step grandson), Zackery Pearson (step grandson) Adrienne Burgess (granddaughter), Ethan Burgess (grandson), Lauren Burgess (granddaughter), Julia Burgess (granddaughter), Elliott Burgess (grandson), and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Shannon Rose Hill chapel on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 2:00pm followed by a committal service. A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. Family and friends may honor the life of Dennis Burgess by donating to the American Cancer Society.
