Cleve Ray Hawkins, 71, of Haslet passed away Tuesday April 7, 2020 with his wife of 40 years by his side.
Visitation: 2 pm to 5 pm Sunday April 12, 2020 at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Cleve was born to Labe and Irma ( Boydstun) Hawkins on May 4, 1948. He lived almost his entire life in Haslet. After graduating from Northwest High School he went to work for Buddies Hardware, where he worked for 39 years. He was also a wealth of information when it came to home improvement and general hardware. Cleve married his wife Nancy in December of 1979, and together raised their only daughter, Lindsay. His friends and family lovingly referred to him as the nicest person they have ever known. Cleve loved his family, friends and his many animals. He had a gentle personality and always had a big smile on his face. He was respected and loved by all who knew him and was a true southern gentleman.
Cleve is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Minnie Fleming; brothers, Wilbert Hawkins and Labe Hawkins Jr. He is survived by his brother, Jerry Hawkins; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
