Charles Leland Griffin

Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel followed by interment in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.

He was born Aug. 17, 1919, in Fort Worth. He graduated from Paschal High School and attended North Texas Agricultural College (now UTA). On Nov. 16, 1940, he married Louise Wiggs, a marriage which lasted 68 years. In 1941, World War II called, and he served in North Africa and Italy until the end of the war. Returning home, he worked for American Airlines and then for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, from which he retired after 34 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother J.B. and Elsie Griffin; his wife, Louise Griffin; and great-grandson, Landon Wilson.

Survivors: His brother, Paul Griffin; daughters, Dolores Webb and her husband, Roger, Eileen Rau and her husband, Rick; grandchildren, Amy Norred and husband, Jim, Alicia Edwards and husband, Damon, Andrea Bradshaw, Ryan Rau, and Regan Rau; and great-grandchildren, Cole Edwards, Nealie Norred, Madison Edwards, Cade Wilson, Nick Norred, Alec Wilson, Drew Edwards and Austin Edwards.
