The family will receive friends during visitation on January 14, 2021 at Shannon Funeral Chapel in North Richland Hills starting at 10am. A service will follow at 11:00am. Committal service will be held at 1:15pm at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Carol was born on March 20, 1940 to parents, Leighton and Helen Bryant in Michigan City, Indiana, where she was raised with her brother Donald. Carol met her beloved husband of 60 years, John R. Trent, at Ben Lippen School in Asheville, NC and they married in December of 1960. She enjoyed staying at home with their sons Jonathan, Philip and Christopher while also managing several moves during John’s career in the Air Force. In later years, Carol worked as an administrative assistant at an architecture firm while they were stationed at the Pentagon in Washington, DC and then as a Human Resources Manager at Turbo Refrigeration of Denton, Texas. During John’s second career as a custom home builder, Carol was the interior designer and decorator for many of the homes they built. Her other hobbies and past-times included gardening, reading, and watching movies. But most of all, she loved spending time with her nine grandchildren.
Most importantly, Carol loved her family and loved the Lord. She was a very active member of Stone Briar Community Church of Frisco and most recently Liberty Church of Chesterton, IN. Her desire to know the Lord more deeply allowed her to touch many lives through her gift of teaching and mentoring. Carol rarely met a stranger and always felt that it was worthwhile to invest her time in others, especially when helping and mentoring new mothers. Carol, a loving wife, caring mother and doting Nana, will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother.
Carol is survived by her husband of 60 years, John R. Trent and three sons, Jonathan and wife Virginia, Philip Trent, and Chris Trent and wife Karen; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Caroline and Randy, John Michael and Megan, Audrey, Jacob, Graham, Drew, Sterling, Ryan, and Avery; one great grandson, Jonathan, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Carol, we will miss your infectious laugh and your unconditional love and friendship.
