Betty Saphir Rose was born on Nov. 17, 1924, in Cairo, Egypt, to Alexander and Sabine Saphir. She went to be with Jesus on Aug. 13, 2018. Betty had a beautiful and full life. She was the eldest of three siblings, Heneritta, and Bernard being the younger two. She grew up in Cairo. Going to a French School.
She spoke five languages, German, French, English, Arabic, and Italian. During World War II, she worked at American Headquarters as a telephone operator where her knowledge of languages came in handy.
Betty met her future husband, Frank Rose at a Red Cross picnic. He was an American Army air corps pilot stationed in Cairo. After the war he became a pilot for Ethiopian airlines. Betty became a stewardess for the same airlines and they spent the next year traveling Africa together.
They were married in 1947, and moved to States in 1948. They lived in Snyder, Texas, where their first child Margaret was born in 1949. Eventually, after a brief move to Minot North Dakota, where their second child( Frank Preston ) was born, in 1953, they settled in Fort Worth, Texas.
Betty was a faithful and loving wife and mother. She was an active member of the Aldersgate Methodist Church in Arlington where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of Bible Study Fellowship for 13 years. She was also a
member of the Eastern Star.
Her love for Jesus and desire to serve Him was evident in her life as she served and loved her family, and all who she came in contact with. Her life and legacy will be cherished and remembered for generations to come.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Sabine Saphir; husband Frank Rose Jr.; sister Henrietta Farber; grandson Alexander Finkle; and great-grandson Logan Rose.
Betty is survived by her brother Bernard Saphir, wife Segula; her daughter Margaret Finkle, husband Jack; son Frank Preston Rose, wife Lillian; her four grandchildren, Adrian Rose, wife Erika, Philip Rose, wife Laura, MiLinda Seekford, Juliana Rach, husband Caleb Rach; her 12 great-children, Jocelyn, Alexis, Cody, Archer, Elijah, Natalie, Bonnie, Josiah, Jack, Ezariah, Dylan, and Michael.
Funeral Service will be at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Home on August 18th at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be one hour prior.
