Barry “DRU” Jackson, 70 of Joshua, Texas left this Earth on June 10th, 2022, after a short battle with Cancer. Dru was born March 27, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas to Edison and Leona Jackson. He is survived by his wife Nikki of 39 years, a daughter Bronwyn Gray and son Brandon Jackson; four grandchildren, Hadley and Penelope Jackson and Cooper and Carter Gray; Sister, Jackie Schlemmer and her husband Jack; and Brother, Mark Jackson and his wife Robbie. He was predeceased by his parents Edison and Leona Jackson and his Sister, Kay Scibek.
Dru graduated from Richland High School in 1970 and immediately started his career in the Title Insurance Business that spanned for almost 50 years. He started as a courier for Guardian Title Company. and quickly advanced to a Title Examiner. In April of 1984 he became the Title Plant Manager for First American Title. He later ran Title Plants for Commonwealth Land Title, Blue Star Title, Sendera Title and retired in September of 2015 from Hexter-Fair/First American Title.
Among Dru’s many passions were the outdoors. He loved yard work, boating and camping. He also was one of the best Dancer’s that ever put their boots on the dance floor. He loved music and was always moving to the beat. His greatest passion was his family and especially those four grandbabies who gave him so much joy over the last several years.
We will be celebrating Dru’s life with a visitation a Laurel Land Funeral Home in Crowley, TX on Saturday June 25th from 4-6. His Service will be held at the Burleson Church of Christ, where he was a member on Sunday, June 26th at 2:30.
