Vera E. Swank, 96, of Fort Wayne, passed away on November 6, 2015. Born on February 3, 1919, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Katherine Vollmer. A member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, and was on the rosary society for over 66 years; a member of the American Legion Post 82 Ladies Auxiliary for 45 years she served as the flag bearer for 20 years and as the sergeant –at-arms; was a member of the VFW Post 857 Ladies Auxiliary for 40 years and retired in 1981 from Craftline Printing after 17 years of service.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Michael) Faurote; son-in-law, Richard Biltz grandchildren, Holly Biltz, Donna (Tony) Fisher, Lisa (Mike) Harris, Kristine (John) Myers, Robin (Chris) Campbell and seven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Swank; and daughter Beverly Biltz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am, Wednesday, November 11, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne. Calling will be held from 3 to 8pm, Tuesday November 10, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with a Rosary service at 7:30pm. Entombment will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Visiting Nurse, Fort Wayne or to the Masses.
