Thomas A. Armstrong

Thomas "Tom" Allen Armstrong, age 80, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away peacefully in the presence of his wife and children on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana and was the son of the late Catherine and Frank Armstrong. Tom lived in Fort Wayne his entire life and graduated from Elmhurst High School. Tom retired from Dana Corporation after 37 years of service beginning as a Machine Operator to Day Foreman position. Tom enjoyed hunting, football, nascar and tending to his lake cottage in Colon, Michigan. He had a talent for home improvement projects and designed and constructed his own renovations to their home and lake cottage. He liked to express his love for his family by acts of service and repairs. Tom was a kind man who loved to laugh and he enjoyed spending the bulk of his time with his family. He had a fondness for Dad jokes and he liked to nick-name his children and grandchildren. He is fondly remembered by his grandchildren as G-Pa. He is survived by his his wife of 58 yrs Rosalind G Armstrong(Groman); daughters Nicole L. Armstrong, Danielle M. Cardenas: grandchildren Gabriella R. Cardenas, Thomas E. Cardenas, Noelle E. Cardenas: great-grandchildren Nova Karnes, Sol Karnes; sister Judy (Pete) Olevnik; and brother Jack( Mary) Armstrong. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Wanda White, Dorothy Walker, Ruth Boroff, Shirley Pattison, Pat McMasters, Catherine Justice; and brother Ervin Armstrong. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Friday August 11th at Queen of Angels Catholic Church 1500 W. State Blvd Fort Wayne, IN 46808, with prayers at 10:00 am at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home 1327 N. Wells St Fort Wayne, IN 46808. Visitation also Thursday from 4-7 at the Funeral home. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery.
