Steven (Steve) Lamont Hall, 49, formerly of New Haven IN, passed away December 21, 2022 at his home in Terre Haute, IN. He was born April 15, 1973 in Fort Wayne, IN, the son of Claude and Doris Hall. He graduated from New Haven High School in 1991 and continued on to earn his Bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the University of Kentucky.
Steve had a larger than life and magnetic personality. He loved being competitive in sports and in life. Being an athlete to his core, he excelled in football, basketball, and track & field. Playing defensive back in football created a pathway through college at Kentucky to the professional level, where he went on to play with the Minnesota Vikings and the Indianapolis Colts. After his career in football, Steve began working at Hitachi Automotive Systems where he worked for 20 years - progressing from a design engineer to an Engineering Program Manager.
If you know Steve, you know his love for superheroes and anime. His top favorites being Spider-Man and Dragon Ball Z. This clearly showed in his humor, way with words, and marveled ability to lift a room in laughter (influenced by his Uncle Jerome). Furthermore, he was a religious and philosophical man where he would often read The Bible and The Book of Enoch; always challenging new ways of thinking and deriving new theories. Steve had 2 children whom he loved deeply and cherished as a major part of his life. You see him shine through them today, as they have grown into highly educated, young adults.
Steven is survived by his son Steven C. Burns of Miami, FL; daughter, Parker D. Hall of Lexington, KY; mother Doris Hall of Fort Wayne, IN; father Claude Hall Jr of Tuscaloosa AL; brother Alex Hall (Angie) of Mccordsville IN; God-Sister LaShaunta Bostic of Huntertown IN; grandmother, Marie L. Bostic of Fort Wayne IN; Nephews Dorian Hall, Julius Hall, and Niece Elena Hall of Mccordsville IN; 13 half siblings; and a host of aunts uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Gerdine Bostic, paternal Father Gregory D Mitchell, Grandmother Gertrude M. Smith, and Aunt Geraldine Bostic.
Funeral Service will be 4pm Friday December 30, 2022 at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN with visitation 2 hour prior. Memorials may be made to Doris Hall. To sign the online guestbook go to www.mccombandsons.com
