Shirley M. Hake

Shirley M Hake, 85, passed away on Monday Jan. 9th, 2023 in Fort Wayne. Born April 3rd, 1937 in Edon Ohio, the daughter of Kenneth P. and Vera (Keller) Headley. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a beloved member of Pine Hills Church since 1974. During her long working career, she worked for 9 years providing household cleaning services for Turtle Creek apartments in SW Allen County, 25 years working for the Seyferts Potato Chip factory and 25+ years for Anne’s Hallmark both in Ft Wayne. While working for Hallmark stores, Shirley became an avid collector of ceramic figurines and other collectables. She also enjoyed making many cross-stitched projects for family and friends commemorating special occasions like weddings, anniversaries and holidays; we all cherish these special treasures. She is survived by her husband of over 67 years Dayton V Hake of Fort Wayne, son Wayne (Patty) Hake of Ft Wayne IN, daughter Barbara (Mark) Riecke of Ringgold GA, son Charles (Cindy) Hake of Arvada CO, and son Rex (Debbie) Hake of Shelton WA. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by siblings, Norma Towers, Beverly Little, Marvin Headley, and Linda Wortkoetter in addition to grandson Jeremy Hake. The family would like to thank the staff at Kingston Care Center for the care and compassion they provided to Shirley and her family during her brief residence there. Funeral service will be 1:30pm, Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Pine Hills Church, 4704 Carroll Rd, Fort Wayne, with calling 30 minutes prior to service. Calling will also be held from 4:00 to 8:00pm, Friday, January 20, 2023, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to Pine Hills Church, Fort Wayne.
