Sheila Anne Counterman

Sheila Counterman was called home to her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, August 27, 2024. She was born on December 30, 1964. Sheila graduated from South Side High School in 1983. She went into nursing as a labor and delivery nurse and loved taking care of new mothers and babies. She went on to get her Master’s degree in nursing and became an instructor. After several years of teaching, she went back into patient care and was a traveling nurse. She loved taking care of her patients over the years. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Paul E. Counterman Jr.; her children, Benjamin Counterman and Claire Counterman; brothers, David (Sherrill) Skelly and Peter Skelly; brother-in-law, Sam (Janelle) Counterman; sisters-in-law, Cindy Counterman McDougall and Debbie (Ken) Drake. She is preceded in death by her parents, David J. and Sharon L. Skelly; and in-laws, Paul E. and Ruth M. Counterman. Sheila enjoyed spending time with her family, spoiling her grand dogs, decorating for Christmas, spending days in her pool, collecting gnomes, shopping, and scrapbooking. Memorial Services will be held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana on September 19, 2024, at 11:00 am with visitation one hour before. A celebration of life and lunch will be served at the church after mass. Inurnment will be held at the Catholic Cemetery following lunch for those that would like to join the family.
