Sharon Rose Williams, known to family as “Sharie”, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 5th, 2024. Born in Louisville, KY on November 21st, 1960 to Beverly and Roy Williams, Sharon moved to Illinois with her family in her teenage years and graduated high school from Quincy Senior High School in 1978 and earned an associate degree from John Wood Community College in Quincy, Illinois. During the mid to late 80’s, Sharon lived in Fort Wayne, IN. Sharon moved back to Louisville in 1990 and earned a bachelor degree from Sullivan University. She bought a home across the river, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, in 2021.
Sharon leaves to cherish her memory, sister, Shannon Kluge (Kreg) of Louisville, KY, her sweet Shih-Poo, Brutus, sister in-law, Jill Williams, niece, Stacy Williams, and a nephew, Clayton “Mitch” Williams. She is predeceased by parents, Beverly Ann Williams and Roy “Glyn” Williams, and brother, Mark “Steve” Williams.
She will be greatly missed by all she worked with at AT&T. Sharon was employed by the “phone company” for over thirty years and excelled in her role as a network engineer. When she wasn’t working, she loved to visit her close friends at Clear Lake and New Orleans. She was a proud Kentucky Colonel and loved the Kentucky Derby, Mardi Gras, and Christmas. Known for creating beautiful holiday décor and Christmas trees, her giving and spirited Christmas magic touched everyone she loved.
A celebration of life service will take place at 2pm on Saturday, December 21st, at Arch L. Heady and Son, 7410 Westport Road, Louisville, KY 40222. Visitation will be from 12pm to 2pm. Memorial gifts may be made in Sharon’s name to the Salvation Army and the Salvation Army Angel Tree.
