Sara Sandra "Sandy" Figel, of Fort Wayne, Indiana was age 79 when she passed away at home on Friday, December 27, 2024. Sandy was born November 11, 1945 in Louisville, KY, a daughter of the late William T. and Wanda E. (nee. Kilkelly) Garr. She held various jobs serving others where she never met a stranger. She loved working in her yard, planting flowers and taking care of her many cats.
She is survived by her children, Steven J. Figel, Kevin W. Figel, and Angela L. (Bruce) Crawford all of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Betty Jo (Robert) Higgins and Lynn (Danny) Kessinger; several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her patient and loving husband, Donald J. Figel, Jr., and two brothers, Gary Garr and Kelly Garr.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 1:00 PM at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46805 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery.
