D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley
Sally Ann Just, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2024, at the age of 80. Sally's life was a shining example of love, laughter, and kindness, leaving an enduring impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
While raising four active and mischievous boys, Sally pursued and earned her nursing degree from Fort Wayne's Purdue University. Following graduation, she worked in the newborn nursery for over ten years at Parkview Hospital Randallia. Sally devoted countless hour researching and documenting the family genealogy. She lovingly supported her sons as they achieved their engineering degrees from the same university. Sally shared over 62 years of marriage with her husband, Don, a time filled with humor and deep affection.
Sally was known for her radiant smile, sparkling eyes, and playful spirit, endearing her to family, friends, and neighbors alike. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special, often sharing humorous stories and offering words of encouragement and pride.
In her youth, Sally was a talented athlete, excelling in sports and anchoring her high school rifle and bowling teams. Her zest for life was infectious, especially among her grandchildren, whom she playfully teased with her 'pinchy inchy' antics.
Sally's wisdom and advice were cherished by many, with her motto of 'you cannot save minutes' serving as a poignant reminder to live life to the fullest. While she will be deeply missed, her love and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Don fondly recalls that he married Sally not just for her beauty but for her spirit, spunk, wit, and, of course, her delightful smile and the best kisses.
Sally had a close relationship with her sister-in-law, Lana Frazier, and they were more like sisters than sisters-in-law.
Sally is survived by her husband, Donald Just, and sons, Don (Jamie), Rob (Leslie), Steve (Amy); Grandchildren: Amanda Just Rhyne (Cody), Mike Just, John Just, Joe Just, Jack Just, Julia Just Fitzgerald (Chris), Evan Just, Nick Just. Step grandchildren Mollie Mongson and Adam Mongson Great-grandson: Bennett Rhyne. Sister-in-law Lana Just Frazier (Ray) and their sons, Scott Frazier (Amber) and Jason Frazier (Alicia), Nieces and nephews: Scotty, Katarina, Christian, Connor, and Abby Frazier.
