Robert Donald Johnson

Robert Donald Johnson, 86, of Fort Wayne died at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Bethlehem Woods. He was born July 29, 1930 in Fort Wayne to the late Oscar and Ruth (Gardner) Johnson. He served in the United States Army 7th Div receiving a Purple Heart from the Korean Conflict. On November 20, 1954 he married Beverly J. Myers who survives in Fort Wayne.Also surviving are 6 children, Eric Johnson of St. Petersburg, FL, David (Terri) Johnson, Thomas (Debbie) Johnson, Lori Johnson (Jill Hunter), Brian (Amy) Johnson all of Fort Wayne, Christine (Steve) Wehri of Columbus Grove, OH; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren.Robert retired from Tokheim Corp. after 42 years of service. He was a member of Most Precious Blood Church and American Legion Post 47. A loyal Notre Dame football fan. He also enjoyed listening to music and dancing. He was a loving Son, Father, Grandfather, and Husband.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday May 4, 2017. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a. m. Friday, May 5, 2017 at Sloan And Sons Funeral Home, Fort Wayne with Pastor Joseph W. Gaughan. Burial will follow in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
