ROBERT A. CHAMBERS, 85, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at Parkview Hospital Randallia, in Fort Wayne. Born in Toledo, Ohio, Robert was a mechanical engineer with Kunkle Valve Company for 35 years, retiring in 1993. He attended First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, and was a Past President of varying engineering societies and the Irvington Park Neighborhood Association. He was a graduate of South Side High School and Purdue University and he was a U.S. Army veteran. He also volunteered at Science Central for many years. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Anne Chambers of Fort Wayne; son, Richard A. (DeAnna) Chambers of Fort Wayne; daughter, Roberta A. (William) Warriner of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Robert (Lisa) Warriner, Jessica (Adam) Turner, Cassandra (Brandon) Lemberg, and Kyle Chambers; great-grandchildren, Claire, Will, Audrey, David, and Henry; and sister, Martha Double of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by parents, Edward G. and Jeannette A. (Abbey) Chambers; and brothers, David Chambers and William Chambers. Service is 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Jim McKay officiating. Military honors performed by the U.S. Army. Calling also from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or donor's choice.
