He was employed by Magnavox Company (now Raytheon) where he retired after 40 years of service.
Robert enjoyed watching sports and was a big fan of I.U. and the Cubs.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Benedict and Luella Brames; his first wife, Karen Brames and four siblings, Dorothy Vevia, Eugene Brames, Richard Brames and Patricia Snow.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Barbara J. Brames; children, Timothy (Brenda) Brames, Christopher Brames, Joseph Brames, Lisa (Adam) Gerber, Cheryl Bell, Michael Fryback, Victoria McKinley and Connie Bodeker; sisters, Lois (George) Neuhaus, Judith Lortie and Sharon (John) Fosnaugh, 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren with two on the way along with many other relatives and friends.
Robert was a loving husband, a devoted father and fun to play with grandfather who loved the Lord and tried to instill that same love of God in his family.
A visitation for Robert will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Maplewood Park, 4017 Maplecrest Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46815.
A funeral service will be held Friday, November 15, 2024 at 10:00 am at Blackhawk Ministries, 7400 E. State Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46815 with a visitation one hour prior to service.
