Rita is survived by her children, Richard (Christine) Safford, Carol (Robert) Cantrell, and Michael (Kay) Safford; grandchildren, Stephanie (John) Jester, Kimberly (Scott) Spaulding, Scott (Courtney) Safford, Tara (Steve) Humphrey, Brenda Cantrell, Leslie (Lucas) Augustyniak, Miranda (Jason) Stuller, Michael Safford II, and Andrew (Sara) Safford; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Lawrence; and brother, Anthony Picker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Safford; and sisters, Geraldine and Mary Picker.
Funeral service will be Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 6:00 pm at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home (6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819). Visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home beginning at 2:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park at a later date.
