Obituary of Richard F. Weber
Richard F. “Dick” Weber, 101, of Fort Wayne and Greenwood, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 2, 2021, at his daughter Jeanne’s residence. He was born to the late Anthony J. and Hilda M. (Wurst) Weber on June 16, 1920 in Ottoville, Ohio. On May 29, 1948, he married Angela H. Macke in St. Mary’s Ohio; she preceded him in death. He honorably served his country as a Sergeant Major in the United States Army during World War Two. Dick was an award-winning self-employed Manufacturers’ Representative for numerous hardware, houseware, and juvenile companies. In retirement he especially enjoyed golfing, wintering in Ave Maria, Florida, and serving in many church ministries.He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Order of Foresters, Serra Club, Delphos American Legion, and Travelers Protective Association. Dick is survived by his three daughters, Barbara (Greg) Michael, Jeanne Weber-Rush, and Mary Beth (Don) Schmitt; eight grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and one sister, Ruth Gibson. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Patricia Schmit and Elizabeth “Betty” Kill, and a brother, Robert Weber. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 11 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne, Indiana 46807 with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be on Friday, September 17, 2021, from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM with a Rosary Service at 7 PM at Klaehn, Fahl, and Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Rd, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. John the Baptist Church or the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne.
