RAMONA M. WELCH, 96 , passed away on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at her residence. Born in Garrett, Ind., she lived most of her life in Fort Wayne. She attended the Western College for Women, Oxford Ohio. She was a previous organist at St. Therese Catholic Church and in sales for the Lewis Shoe Store, in Waynedale, owned by her family. She was also a member of Cathedral of The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She is survived by a son, Patrick Welch of Lewis Center, Ohio; daughters, Kathleen (Michael) Olson and Sherry (Norm) Gilford, both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Lisa Winslow (Bob Bearman), Chris (Tami) Olson, Zachary Welch, Chad (Cassie) Gilford, and Tim (Jill) Gilford; and great-grandchildren, Meghan, Jessica, Bryanna, Kaitlyn, Taylor, Quinn, and Mae. She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Welch. Mass of a Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Cathedral of The Immaculate Conception, 1122 S. Calhoun St., with visitation one hour prior. Msgr. GR Robert Schulte officiating. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, with a vigil at 4:30 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
