Phyllis Louise Rice

Phyllis L. (Bauer, Seibert) Rice, 72, went to be with her family on November 22, 2011. Ms. Rice was the 10th child of Milo and Daisy Rice. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred, David, Milo Jr., Merlin and Paul; her sisters Marge Waters, Lois, Lydia Emrick, and Rosemary Dautz.

After attending Miner, Hoagland Jr. High and South Side schools she married Joe Bauer in 1958 – divorced in 1967, married John “Jack” Seibert – divorced in 1981.

While living in Colorado she worked for Ball Aero Space on a program for the Hubble. She returned to Ft. Wayne and worked for Ft. Wayne Wire and Die. She retired from ITT in 2001.

She leaves one son, Edwin Seibert of S.C. and one daughter, Andra (Dennis) Glass of Tri Lakes; six grandchildren, Bradley Seibt, Lorie Seibt, Joshua (Crystal) Seibert, Kevin Seibert and Justin and Jordan Bunch, all of Fort Wayne; great granddaughters, Alana, Hayden and Gabrielle.

She was also preceded in death by a great grandson Ethan Seibert and a special friend, Bob Stanford of Indianapolis.

A special thank you to Rachael Mills and Parkview Hospice for helping her daughter care for Phyllis at home in her final days.

Funeral service is at 11:00 a.m.on Friday, November 25, 2011 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Ft. Wayne with calling two hours prior. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Parkview Hospice or Angel Corps. Burial will be in Uniontown Cemetery.
