Paul “Chip” Vaith Barnhill IV, 54, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at St. Joe Hospital. Born April 20, 1964 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Paul Vaith Barnhill III and Judy Marie (Parrish) Bratten, who survives. Paul attended Elmhurst High School and continued his education at IPFW. He was an auto body technician with Superior Collision and Paint for over 10 years and had also been employed with Greer Performance, Fox & Fox, and Al Gratz. He was a member and property manager of Trinity Lutheran Church. Paul enjoyed fishing, camping, cars, and racing. Mostly, he loved the treasured time he spent with his family. He is also survived by his loving wife, Carla (Schanbacher) Barnhill; five children, Crystal Barnhill, Paul Vaith Barnhill V, Victoria Barnhill, Stuart Barnhill, and Campbell Barnhill; two grandchildren, Jayden and Geoffrey Steeg; eight siblings, William “Bill” Bratten, Patrick (April) Barnhill, Shauna (Kenny) Evans, Jeanetta (James) Wilson, Dave Bratten, Steven Bratten, Trina Bratten, and Mariann Bowers; grandmothers, Elaine Parrish and Ruth Kelly; brother-in-law, Thomas (Lisa)Schanbacher; father-in-law, Carl Schanbacher; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his uncle, Callan Kelly; grandfathers, Ray Parrish and R.D. Kelly; and mother-in-law, Louise Schanbacher. Funeral Service will be Noon on Friday, April 5, 2019 at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Steven Voelker officiating.
