Patsy Jean (Conkle) Weber, 88, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, passed away on January 23, 2021. She was the wife of John Anthony Weber, deceased in 2009. John and Patsy were married June 6, 1953 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, Ohio.
Patsy "Pat", was born at home in Lima, Ohio, January 25, 1932, to parents, Nova (Erwin) Conkle and J. Russell Conkle. She was the second child; an infant brother, Ralph, deceased, and her sister, Mary Kay Smith.
Early childhood and elementary school life in the town of Lima, Ohio , held lists of friends, teachers, neighbors, tradesmen, and lessons learned to treasure over later years recalled. Also cherished, were weekly visits to grandparents and cousins, aunts, and uncles, living close-by in the country.
In 1950, Patsy graduated from Auglaize Local High School, Harrod, Ohio, having moved from Lima during her 7th grade schoolyear. This was the same school that her Dad, Russell Conkle, had graduated in 1926. The lessons, teachers, relationships, and family values instilled during the five years there were the basis of her happy life.
While soliciting businesses to buy school annual ads, Patsy met John Weber, who later became her husband. John worked for Bursley's Wholesale Grocers, Lima, Ohio. Patsy and John enjoyed 56 wonderful years together before Alzheimer's took John's life.
Patsy started working at Gregg's Department Store, in the office, during her high school years, and continued there as a secretary after graduation. She worked there until the birth of their children.
Patsy is survived by children; Terri (Mike) Bruner, Joe (Rose) Weber, Carol (Rick) Sarasien, and Russell Weber (Noreen Lona). Grandchildren are Eric Weber, Justin (Megan) Weber, Amanda (Scott Bryson) Sarasien, and Kimberly Sarasien. Great-grandchildren are Hannah Rose Weber, Masen Newland, Ashlyn Aries Weber, and Hannah K. Piggott. Also surviving is Patsy's faithful pet cat, Missy.
In 1961 the Weber Family moved from Lima, Ohio to Fort Wayne as John's career dictated. He worked and retired from Supervalu (Food Marketing Corp.) Patsy and John, and grown children, enjoyed 20- plus years also at their seasonal lake home in Coldwater, Michigan, before returning to Fort Wayne.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 3 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, IN.
