Obituary of Pamela Ann (Barnes) Wilson
Pamela Ann (Barnes) Wilson, a cherished mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend known for her fashion, decorating, and wit, passed away peacefully August 27, 2024. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on December 27, 1955, to Cecil Raymond "Tommy" Kersey and Olivia Barnes. Pam was a 1974 graduate of Northrop High School. She began working at GTE (now Verizon) as a Service Advisor and Store Manager from June 1974 to January 1989. She left GTE to be a full time wife and mother. Pam enjoyed poetry, the company of close family and friends, fine dining, reading, gardening, a love for fashion and music, which she passed on to her boys. She was strong willed, resilient, and spoke her mind, yet loving, nurturing, and caring to all those who were blessed to have known her. Above all else, Pam was a devoted mother who cherished the bond she had with her sons. Leaving this earthly realm with four of the best parts of her, she will forever be remembered for just how much she loved her boys. Her departure leaves an unfillable void in our lives, yet we find comfort in our faith, her memories, and everlasting love we shared. As we grapple with the loss of her presence, we find comfort in knowing that Pam's legacy lives on through the lessons she taught, the love she shared, and our memories we cherish forever in our hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Raymond "Tommy" Kersey and Olivia Barnes-Hopkins and a brother, Rodney Kersey. Pam is survived by her four sons, Rodney Barnes (Jodi), Demetrius, Dominique and Deion Wilson (Shay); sister, Brigitte Hopkins Hill (Reginald); and brother Gary L. Hopkins (Renita); five grandchildren and a host of family and friends whose lives were touched by Pam's presence. A celebration of life memorial visitation for Pamela will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Foster Park, 6301 Fairfield Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46807, followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 4:00 pm.
