OSCAR QUINTERO SR., of Fort Wayne, passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2017 at Woodview Manor Nursing Home. Born April 18, 1922 in Eagle Pass, Texas, he was the son of the late Matias and Maria Barrera Quintero. He was a mattress maker at Wolfe Corp. for 37 years.
Survivors include four daughters, Carolina Vasquez of Fort Wayne, Maria (Raul) Soto, Elena York, Gracie (Doug) Matteson; son, Oscar Quintero Jr.; sister, Maria Almaguer of Eagle Pass, Texas; seven grandchildren, 10 great-granchildren and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aurora Mauricio Quintero; daughter at birth, Rosita Quintero; 2 brothers Francisco and Antonio Quintero; 4 sisters, Regina Munez, Eulalia Gonzales, Doloros Qulude and Alicia Villareal.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior. Fr. Evaristo Olivera officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, Rosary Service Thursday, 7:00 p.m. at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home Winchester Road Chapel. Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Allen County SPCA or Cancer Services of N.E. Indiana.
