Melvin Wilson, 78, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Parkview Hospital. Mel was born on December 14, 1942 in Fort Wayne, IN, to the late Melvin and Donna (Houser) Wilson. He was a graduate of Arcola High school. Mel retired from GE after 40 years of service. He was a dirt car and drag racing enthusiast, IU basketball and NASCAR racing fan, and loved the movie "Hollywood Nights" and his favorite music was The Beach Boys. He was focused on family and would not hesitate to help others. Mel was also the president of the Parker Cemetery. His proudest moments were the accomplishments of his children and the birth of his grandchildren. He has a legacy of kindness, being kind, and helping the community. Survivors include his children; John Wilson and Kristine Wilson of Fort Wayne, and Robert (Jessica) Wilson of El Paso, TX, five grandchildren; Samantha, Brody, Adelaide, Layla and Bella Wilson; sisters Cindy (Lynn) Harp, Kay (John) Neat, and Cheryl (Carl) Cook, and brother Glen Kite. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February, 24, 2021 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Burial will take place at Parker Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Parker Cemetery Association.
