Mary Lou Marchesano

Mary Lou Marchesano, 69, passed away Friday May 12, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born May 12, 1954 in Bloomington, Illinois, but shortly after moved to North Vernon, Indiana where she spent most of her childhood.

In 1970, Mary Lou moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana and graduated from Wayne High School in 1972. Following high school, she went on to attend Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne.

After many years of working as a traffic manager in the high paced radio industry, she finished her working career as the office manager at Brookwood Cabinets in New Haven. In her retirement, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and always loved cooking for a house full of family and friends. A caretaker at heart, Mary Lou loved taking care of others and took on many caretaking roles in recent years. But there is no doubt she was happiest when spending time with her grandkids. Whether that meant watching sporting events, doing crafts, taking nature walks, or even baking, spending time with her grandkids (and great-grandkids) was what she loved most.

She is survived by her husband, Grazio M. Marchesano of Fort Wayne, IN; children, Carmela (Jason) Bloom, Maria (Seth Coffing) Marchesano, Michael (Mindy) Marchesano, Lea (Lori Stinson) Smith, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sister Hellen Scott, brothers, Donald Redmond, Orville (Carol) Redmond, and Auda (Debra) Redmond. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Zella Redmond, her sister Angela Pennington, and her brothers, Ronald Redmond, Arnold Redmond, and Marvin Redmond.

Funeral service will be 1:30 pm Thursday May 18, 2023 at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home 8325 Covington Road Fort Wayne, IN with visitation from 12-1 pm prior. Visitation also from 12-2 pm and 4-8 pm Wednesday May 17, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
