Mary L. Mann

Mary L. Mann, 84, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Lutheran Life Villages. Born on November 19, 1937, in Whitley County, Indiana, she was a daughter to the late Vesterman and Willowdean (Miller) Reed. After graduating from South Whitley High School, Mary went on to work in administration for the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. She was known by many for her quick wit, one-liners, and ornery smile. Mary was deeply dedicated to her family and especially loved to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and belonged to a church card group. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Gene Mann; daughter, Barbara (Phil) Sorg; son, Robert Mann; three grandchildren, Sydnie White, Kyden Mann, and Shayle Mann; five great grandchildren, Blayd, Journy, Mary Gene, Maverick, and Oliver; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her sister, Eloise Gable. A public visitation for Mary will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809. A private celebration of life and graveside services will be held on a later date. Contributions in Mary's memory may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana or Poe Volunteer Fire Department.
