Mary Margaret Morris Dye (Haugen, San Pietro), 85, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on March 4, 2017. Mary was born in Huntington, IN on April 26, 1931. She was lovingly raised by Ronald and Mary Katherine Hegel along with her “sisters” Lynn Clabaugh and Vicki Cart. Mary worked as a part-time professor teaching medical terminology at Ivy Tech Community College and IPFW. She also worked at Parkview Memorial Hospital in the Medical Records Department, as well as a medical transcriptionist for various local doctors. She enjoyed going to church, knitting, sewing, reading and listening to music. She was actively involved in knitting baby blankets, scarves and hats and donating them to the church.
Mary is survived by her children, Paul Haugen, Katherine Allibone (Wayne) and Carrie Aldridge (Marcus) and adopted granddaughter, Dawn Putney (Joel), grandchildren, Shaun Beiswanger, Barry Aldridge, Erich Haugen, Jason Radke, Kyle Haugen, John Aldridge, Claire Haugen, Brandie Bidner, Lisa Shipman and Courtney Aldridge, and sisters, Lynn Claybaugh and Vicki Carter. She also had 14 great grandchildren and other family.
Private services were held, with burial at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary Dye’s name may be given to Trinity English Lutheran Church 450 West Washington Blvd. Fort Wayne, IN 46802.
