Mary was born June 28, 1955, in Champaign, IL, to Thomas E. and Jane L. (Baker) Clements
She is survived by her mother, Jane Clements, of Morton, IL.; a brother, Thomas A. Clements of Hammond, IN, and two nephews, Thomas P. Clements (Katie) of Nashville, TN, and John A. Clements of Chicago, IL.
She was preceded in death by her father, and sister, Ann Clements.
Mary attended Homestead Jr. and Sr. Highschool, where she was active in the arts and the Marching Band. She graduated from Indiana University in 1977, and returned to her hometown of Ft. Wayne after graduation, where she last worked in public relations and event planning management. Mary had an active interest in the arts and in history, and also worked in local radio, at the Lincoln Museum and last at the Foellinger-Friemann Botanical Conservatory, all in Ft. Wayne. After retiring Mary spent most of her time caring for her elderly mother, and her dog, Molly, both to which she was devoted.
She will be remembered for her cheerful disposition and active social life with a large group of friends. Mary was always helpful and ready to answer obscure questions about local and Lincoln history. She was a skillful researcher and talented writer. She will be missed by her friends and the many people with whom she worked. Services are private. A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held for all friends and family at the Allen County Public Library on October 15, 2022, from 6-8PM.
