Martin L. Horn, 65, of Fort Wayne, passed away on February 7, 2017. Born in Philadelphia, raised in the Chicago suburb of Deerfield, Marty Horn was an Eagle Scout then spent 20 years in the Army as a Military Policeman. After retiring in 1993, he got into internet technologies. Together with his wife, they worked on the concept of Any Soldier, with their son, Sergeant Brian Horn, when he was in Iraq. Marty built the website (Anysoldier.com) and maintained it every day for the past 13 years directly supporting 2,471,050 troops to date.
He is also survived by his wife of 37 years, Sue Horn; father, Ludwig Horn; children, Brian (Angela), Meghan, Svetlana, Erik, Sasha, Jesse and Jason (Irene) Horn; siblings, Jim, Fr. Joseph and Robert Horn, Martina Remington and MaryAnne Gomulinski; as well as several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martina Horn; and daughter, Jodi Horn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Monday, February 13, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior to service. Calling will also be held from 2 to 6pm, Sunday, February 12, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with Rosary service at 6 pm. Inurnment with full military honors, at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Anysoldier.com.
