For more than 65 years, Maggie was a member of St. Joe United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne. She retired in 1985 from St. Joe United Methodist Preschool as both a teacher and director after more than 18 years of service, as well as many years of volunteer work in the church office. Maggie was active in the United Methodist Women. In 1946, she graduated from North Side High School, and then attended International Business College. Maggie loved to play cards and games with family and friends. She traveled to all 50 states, as well as many trips abroad, and really enjoyed spending the winters in Florida after retirement.
She is survived by her son, James (Judith) Tallman of Tarpon Springs, Florida; daughters, Jacqueline Tallman of The Villages, Florida, and Janet (Joseph) Corah of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Elizabeth Hans of Tampa, Florida, Peter (Emily) Tallman of Anchorage, Alaska, Jason Corah of Fort Wayne, and Joshua Corah of Indianapolis; and great-grandchildren, Maya Tallman and Sam Thorne, both of Anchorage, Alaska. She was also preceded in death by her husband of more than 61 years, Richard J. Tallman, in 2009; as well as her brothers, Joseph (Maxine) Smith, and William Smith.
A funeral service to honor Maggie's life will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at St. Joe United Methodist Church, 6004 Reed Road, Fort Wayne, with calling from 1:00pm, until time of service She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
