Kay was a customer service representative for Aetna Life Insurance Company. Upon her retirement, she opened a home daycare, and served her children with her love and care. She also taught Sunday School classes for many years at Trinity English Lutheran Church, where she was a lifelong member. She was a graduate of Central High School. Mama Kay was a fantastic cook, hosted wonderful Sunday dinners, and cheered for the Irish and the Hoosiers.
Kay is survived by her children, Kim (Ken) Speed, Tim (Brenda) Poore, and Maureen (Fred) Bender; grandchildren, Christi (Ryan) Nuechterlein, Melissa Poore (Kevin Furry), Morgan (Chrissy) Bloodsmith, Kaylyn Speed, Jon Poore (Caitlin), and Sydney Sylvester; her great-grandchildren; and sibling, George Walda. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Vincent Dickson; siblings, Keith Walda, and Jon Walda.
With a private, family visitation and graveside service being held, Kay will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
