Kathryn Babette Schwartz

Katie lived most of her life in Decatur, IN, enjoying summers at Lake Wawasee, IN and winters in Naples, FL. She was a graduate from Huntertown High School and attended Indiana Business College. She was a homemaker.

She was an avid card player - always ready for a game of euchre, bridge, or gin rummy. She played golf at Maxwelton Golf Course in Syracuse and the Wilderness Country Club in Naples. She liked to play the piano and needlepoint.

Katie was a loving wife, mother, and Memaw. She celebrated her 100th birthday in October with her family, friends, and live music at a party at the Towne House Retirement Center. She is survived by her children, Robert (Linda) Schwartz of Lake Tippecanoe, IN; Rita Ann Gabriel; Susan (Gary) Woods; both of Fort Wayne, IN; Steven Schwartz of Savannah, GA; brother Stanley (partner Liz) Dunten of Hanover, NH; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Katie was preceded in death by her husband, Harry R. Schwartz and her sister, Patricia Barrett.

At Katie’s request, there will be no services. Memorials may be made to Parkview Hospice. Arrangements by D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 8325 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN.
