11/06/2022  Karen, I miss you so much sis, I keep wanting to call and have one of our sister talks, you could always calm me down and make me laugh, and I loved it when you were sharing things with me. I know how long you suffered, and now you are at peace, and I know I am being selfish wanting you hear, but I want you hear healthy without the suffering, I miss our luncheons, I want one of your hugs. I know you are with so many loved ones, cause our family is there, more than here, I truly look forward to the day God brings me home.  The Holidays are coming up and this is the hardest time, missing family. so many, Hey wanted to share that our brother Steve came for a visit, he spent a week with me, I loved spending time with him, we had a great visit,  Love Always, Linda

Karen was inspirational while she was battling her medical issues. I always tried to make her laugh. We would talk in the office. Once we worked from home it was mostly messages. I’d send funny things she said I made her laugh.  Karen loved her family. She always talked about the kids. She sure was proud. Such a sweet person. I remember her being so happy that Moffitt cured her cancer. Unfortunately her battle continued. She had her faith. Karen is at peace. I’m sure she will be with her family as much as she can, once she figures out how to communicate from above.  Peace be with Karen and her family. 

My dearest friend, 
      I miss every memory we had.  For over 30 years, we shared our secrets, milestones, many special moments, and even our name. From our phone calls to our trips together, I will cherish them all. It seems like just yesterday our boys played football together and we were laughing on the sidelines. I am so grateful for all the  times I had with you. These times brought me comfort and reassured me of our closeness. A best friend is very hard to find and I thank god, he gave me, you. I miss you already but I know your smile and laugh and that’s enough to cherish forever.

So sorry to hear my cousin Karen suffered so much and is no longer with us. I've been thinking of all the fun things we did when she was my and three crazy brothers baby sitter. She would bring her records and we would dance and sing for hours. She was so nice that we would feel bad when we were getting out of line or being mean. I'll never forget throwing a baseball at her real fast out of anger and she didn't catch it, in fact the ball hit her in the eye and she still stayed calm and did not scold or punish me. She was a very loving person and I will never forget our rare times together, I regret not  seeing her for a long time. Prayers to her family. Don Watson (Cousin)

I met Karen Lynn McGee almost 27 years ago at GTE in Temple Terrace Florida. I was a consultant from Indiana and Karen would make it to be her personal mission to make me feel at home.  I learned that she too hailed from Indiana and that her son Matt was a source of great pride. Always kind and inclusive, I soon received advice, laughter and always smiles from what would become a fast friendship.  I soon learned that she loved music, the colors purple and silver and that she very much loved her parents, brothers, sisters and her special friends from Fort Wayne.  It pained her greatly if there was even the hint of dissention among any of them.  I feel honored to have met both her parents before they too transitioned to glory.

Soon she would meet and marry the love of her life, Leslie Goden, a strong polished military man that she was eager for me to meet.  I assured her that she indeed had found a very good man.  Now Mrs. Goden, soon Les Jr was born, and he was undoubtedly the jewel of her eye.  Throughout all of it, my friendship with her and Les grew, and Karen embraced my extended family members as well.  Later, when she began to develop health issues, I would soon realize what a good man she had by her side.  Les Sr was selfless through it all, each day to the very end.  I witnessed him often fatigued from a full day at work, he would soon be off to the hospital to sit with her and give her the strength she needed to fight on.  She fought a magnificent fight and the Lord decided to bring her home to glory and to a place where death is vanquished and where pain and suffering are no more.  As heavy as my heart is with grief at her loss, I rejoice in her joining into the communion of the angels. Well done.  Rest in peace my friend. 


Karen was always a happy soul. She always wanted everyone around her to be happy and she did whatever she could to make the day better.  She would help anyone with anything.  Karen, you will be missed by many, many people as you touched a lot of lives.  On angel wings Karen.

Everyone knows Mrs. Goden was like my 2nd mother.  Her son Matthew and I have been best friends over 40 years. We are like brothers. Karen has given me so much motherly advice over the years and I will truly miss that. When I was diagnosed with cancer last year she reached out to let me know that everything was going to be all right-so far she has been right. Karen will be truly missed but her kind soul will continue to bless us all.

For my sister: Karen Lynn McGee Goden, my older sister, friend and confidant, I always looked up to you, you were so kind and sweet, you with your mild manners, so loving, caring, thoughtful, I know how much you suffered, and it really hurt to see you in so much pain, now no more will you suffer, but renewed in the arms of our Lord and Savior. you are with our sister Amy, Mom, Dad, Grandma, Uncle Carl, and my husband Steve, along with so many others. You were there for me when Steve went to be with our heavenly father. The love you showed me was your nature, I can't find the words to express my love for you and how much I miss you. I am here for any support and help I can give to Les, your husband, Les II, and Matt, your sons, I love them and feel their grief. Karen, so many memories I will hold dear to my heart, and I am so thankful for our talks and knowing what a strong faith in God you have, that gives me a peace knowing one day not so far away we will be reunited. I miss our phone conversations, I miss meeting up with you to have lunch, I miss your love, I miss your smile, laughter, kindness, understanding, I miss YOU.  John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

My deepest sympathies and condolences to your family. I met you and Matt over 20 years ago and you had my back every since. You treated me and my daughter as if we were blood related. I looked forward to listening to your kind words and motherly advice. I’m so heartbroken and will miss you dearly but I know you will be watching over us now with a view from the clouds.

So sorry for the family. Karen I meant while working at GTE 1974.  We shared so so many fun times over the last 50 years. We laugh and cry together.  I could always count on Karen for support as well as she could always count on me for support and love. One very most important  was the day Matthew (Jodi) was born.  Also, when Karen honored me by asking me to be Matthew’s Godmother

There will not be a day that passes that I will not remember special moments in my life.
