IN THE CARE OF
D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley
Julie Lynn Zeider
Born: November 2, 1949 Passing: July 16, 2024
It is with tremendous sadness, we share the news of our mother's unexpected passing. Anyone that met our mother, Julie, knew of her genuine care for all others. She knew no stranger! Julie was an extraordinary Christian and was deeply involved with Saint Alban's Episcopal Church since she moved to Fort Wayne in 1995. She served the church in various capacities, most recently, she was a Lay Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Daughters of the King.
Being an only child, Julie always wanted a large family. She was so proud of her 5 children and 10 grandchildren. Several years ago, she was grateful to learn of and develop a relationship with her biological brothers and sisters and extended family. Holidays with the family were the most treasured moments of the year and an invitation was always extended for anyone to sit at her table. She would plan a year ahead for these big family celebrations.
Julie loved to read and learn about cultures and history. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling domestically and abroad. She appreciated being a food and wine enthusiast with her children.
Julie was extremely educated and was a proud lifelong supporter and committed fan of Michigan State University. She loved to go to any sporting event and always made time to stop at the dairy store when on campus. She graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor of arts degree from James Madison in International Relations and a Master's Degree in Business administration from Indiana University. Julie was a Certified Information Systems Auditor (ISACA) and held a Six Sigma Black Belt certification. She had numerous accomplishments in her long professional career. In 2018, she retired from Lincoln Financial Group.
She is survived by her five children: Juliann Jankowski (Jeff Baker), Jennifer (Greg) Strokotter, Blake Pontius, Ashley (Roy) Kenworthy, Stephanie (Dan) McLean. Her ten grandchildren:
Lauren Jankowski, Morgan Jankowski, Josh Jankowski, Jaelyn Pontius, Roman Pontius, Mason Kenworthy, Gunner Kenworthy, Owen Kenworthy, Liam McLean, and Ella McLean.
Julie had her own personal mission statement for life: To serve God in his church, to pray every day; multiple times if possible. To spread the good news at every opportunity, bringing as many as possible to share in the community of Christ.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Alban's Episcopal Church 7308 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
