Joseph L. Emmerson, 73, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Heritage Park. He was born on July, 10, 1943 in Fort Wayne. A graduate of North Side High School, Joseph also attended College of the Sequoias, Hanover College, and graduated from International Business College where he earned an Associate Degree in Accounting. Since 1982, he was employed with Menu Meats, M & L Vending Services, Peter Eckrich & Sons, Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire, Casa’s, and most recently Belmont Beverage; from which he retired. He was a member of the Mizpah Shrine and Scottish Rite. He is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Gary) Katula of Naperville, IL and Kristina Emmerson of Fort Wayne; stepdaughter, Paula (Lee) Nuest of Payne, Ohio; stepsons, Paul Perl of Seattle, Wash., and Jim (Chris) Perl of Fort Wayne; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Sandra (Tuttle) Emmerson. Funeral Service will be 1pm on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior.
