Jeanne L. Smith

Jeanne L. Smith, 96, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019. She was born to the late Forest R. and Ruth (Romary) Lemert in Fort Wayne on October 22, 1922. Jeanne owned for over 40 years the Jeanne Lemert Academy of Dance where she taught jazz, tap and ballet. After retiring she moved to Florida and was head of the National Red Cross in Highlands County. Jeanne was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church.

Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Cheryle McPherson; granddaughters, Alisa Coats and Erica McPherson; great-grandchildren, Whitney and Christoffer McPherson; and three great-great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Smith.

A Private Service will be held for family. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
