Janice Louise Ables, 85, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 2, 2023. She was born on September 23, 1938, to the late James and Imogene Godschalk.
Jan lived a full, wonderful life. She loved playing bridge, visiting casinos, baking, hosting family celebrations, sending greeting cards, and collecting dolls and figurines. Sunflowers made her smile. She was a loving wife of 57-years and a caring and generous mother and grandmother. Her kind heart touched many lives. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas G. Ables, daughter and son-in-law, Angela Ables Hubler and Patrick Hubler of Fort Wayne, Indiana, son and daughter-in-law, Andrew Thomas Ables and Christine Ables of Fort Wayne, Indiana, grandsons, Hunter Hubler, Hayden Hubler, Ethan Ables, and Mason Ables, sister-in-law Gloria Godschalk, and many special nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Godschalk, Jr.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, on Saturday, December 9, 2023, with a funeral service at 12:00 PM, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home- Covington Knolls, located at 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
