Janean Louise Putman, 82, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Born on March 25, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Bessie (Aldrich) Freed. Janean was a graduate of Angola High School and worked as an insurance processor for Aetna and Mutual Securities until retirement. When she wasn’t working, Janean enjoyed flower gardening and reading books. She loved her family and loved being a grandmother and a great-grandmother. She had a special bond with her three sisters, creating memories by spending time with them at Clear Lake in Fremont, Indiana, vacationing together in the Great Smoky Mountains, and just simply getting together for lunch. Janean was a social person who loved entertaining and throwing parties for friends, family, and co-workers. She “didn’t know a stranger,” and was a good friend to everyone she met. Janean will be missed dearly by her family and is survived by her children, Jill (Arnie) Myers, Sheri (Tony) Pisaturo, Jenny Putman, and Scott Putman; grandchildren, Kelly Greenlee, Nicole (Ryan) Koch, Anna (Jared) Luke, A.J. (Rachel) Pisaturo, Cameron Putman, Kyle Putman, and Faith Putman; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Samantha, Hudson, Oliver, and Caroline; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Lois Nelson, Phyllis Pendergrass, and Joyce Grabe Raifsnyder. A Celebration of Life to remember Janean will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Hopewell United Brethren Church, 6852 County Road 35, Auburn Indiana 46706. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elara Caring Hospice Foundation, Fort Wayne, in Janean’s name. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy for the Putman family may be left at www.hockemeyermillerfh.com.
