Obituary of Jane (Bair) Munk
Jane Bair Munk, 60, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. She was born on November 1, 1964 to the late George M. Bair Jr. and Donna (Kirchenbauer) Bair. Jane attended Western Kentucky University on a golf scholarship and won the Fort Wayne Women’s City Golf tournament in the 1980’s. She also won a national tournament during her college years. Jane graduated with a degree in Management and Marketing from Western Kentucky University and started her career with a pharmaceutical company. She worked as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative and as a Professional Education/Research Specialist for the pharmaceutical company. Jane earned an MBA in 1997 and, having learned the skills of meeting management through the pharmaceutical company, Jane started celebrations ep, an event management company and planned many events in the Fort Wayne area, primarily for the medical community. She married Doug Munk in 1994, and tragically lost him in a bicycle accident in August 1997. After the death of her beloved husband, Jane went back to school and became a mental health counselor and eventually started a Coaching and Consulting Business, Risen Inc. as well as founding Kerith Brook, Retreats for Grieving Adults to help others through the challenges of life. She most loved her nieces and nephews, soul daughter and soul grandchildren. Jane loved a good conversation with both laughter and tears, taking vacations and retreats, kayaking and the art of doing nothing. She spent most January’s at the beach. Jane is survived by her longtime boyfriend, Dalen Tranbarger; his daughter, Alex (Sarah) Tranbarger; brothers, George (Becky) Bair and Mike (Mary Jo) Bair; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; soul daughter, Hillary Martin Zumbrun; and soul grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home 6424 Winchester Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial to follow the service at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Kerith Brook, Retreats for Grieving Adults.
