James Donald Minnich

James (Jim) Donald Minnich, 64, of Geneva Indiana, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on July 24, 2023 at Majestic Care in New Haven Indiana. Jim was born in Geneva, Indiana on September 11, 1958. Jim graduated from South Adams High School in 1976. Jim enlisted in the US Navy in 1982 and served as a Boiler’s Mate Technician Petty Officer 2nd class until honorably discharged-medically from the Navy in 1989. He enjoyed the company of friends at the American Legion Post #468 for many years, sharing military anecdotes and BS-ing with likeminded veterans and locals. Jim was fond of history, cooking, reading, native American culture and wood working. He also loved to sing whether it was part of the church choir or karaoke. Jim was previously married to Karen Minnich (Lawhead) from June 20,1981 until 1992. Jim is survived by Karen (Lawhead) Minnich, Jared Minnich, Amy (Himes) Minnich, Marissa Himes, Adalyn Himes, Abram Minnich, Eli Minnich, Joan ( Flanagan ) Minnich, Steve Minnich, Ann (Clark) Minnich, Wes Minnich, Travis Minnich, Clint Minnich, Trisha Minnich, Lyle Flanagan, Kelsey Flanagan, Erin Flanagan, Kylie Clark, Jenna Clark and other family and friends. Jim is preceded in death by Donald N. Minnich (father), Joan Claudette Minnich (mother), Nick Minnich (brother). There are no plans for a formal public funeral service however a private family memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services Mungovan.
